Social Service Assistant Employment
Social and human service assistants held about 352,000 jobs in 2004. More
than half worked in the health care and social assistance industries. One in
three were employed by State and local governments, primarily in public
welfare agencies and facilities for mentally disabled and developmentally
challenged individuals.
